much love <3
FWIW, I had a DWI/DUI on my record when I applied for my current job. That was 11 years ago and promotions that have almost doubled my income. Don't let the "little shit" prevent you from doing what you know you need to do.
And even Walmart pays part-time stockers $12.75/hr. At least in my town, they do. With or without a checkered past.
Before my current job, I worked part time as a receptionist at a dirt hauling company and part time as a sales clerk at a department store. I've flipped burgers, made tacos, tossed and delivered pizzas too in my adult life. (I have a MS-Accounting). SimpsonsOK is right - having a job - any job - adds structure and purpose to one's life. Especially when one is in dire need of structure and purpose.
Developing a plan of action also has a more immediate benefit. When one is busy working on the plan, one has less time to obsess about the negatives. That is "win-win" in my book.
Unfortunately, you are the only one who can do this for you. If you are not looking for solutions, but merely commiseration, please let me know and I will no longer respond to your posts.
