It has been really bad since my pdoc took me off Cymbalta for Manerix. Since then I have become more depressed and weak. My whole body aches all day and severe muscle weakness. They don't seem to know what is wrong. The nurse thought it could be because of my blood sugars being too high. I wonder if it's because I have thought for may years I have CFS and the cymbalta was helping for that. We've had two friends that were like this and it later turned out they had cancer...I try not to think of something so terrible. Needless to say my kids are scared and my mom is worried because of how I am feeling. I was hopefully when I finally got into the endrocinologist and the insulin, but now that isn't helping either. Now with how I am feeling my anxiety has skyrocketed again. I just want to feel "normal".
Disability does come with a price of not enough money, which creates a lot of stress every day.
You are all right in that school will have to wait, but I beat myself up over this.
You said that your doctor(s) don't know exactly what's wrong? Maybe you can do a few basic tests to clear both you and your family's minds? That's just a suggestion. Do whatever you feel like doing. Or, maybe take another medication for chronic fatigue? Maybe you can find some remedies or self-help for chronic fatigue online?
Diabetes both 1 and 2 runs in my family. I don't know a whole lot about managing it, since I don't have it myself. My mom didn't used to always test her blood sugar, etc. very often. A combination of that and doctors being stupid caused her to end up really sick in the hospital. So, please always monitor yourself.
I'm sure that if you ask your doctor/medical staff about controlling your blood sugar and eating, they'll probably be able to help.
It's okay to take time off from school to rest. I won't be able to attend school for a semester or 2 because of my seizures, and plenty of other people take breaks from college as well.
Also, you don't always have to pay full price for books. People will sell their used books on ebay and amazon, and a lot of the time they can be pretty cheap. Or you can ask people at your school who have already taken the course if they still want their books; most of them don't, and they'll probably sell it to you.
I hope everything works out for you. Hugs
After going off Cymbalta I really noticed a difference. It is prescribed for fibromyalgia which wouldnt surprise me if I didnt have it since it seems to ride along with CFS a lot. My pdoc wanted to wait out the Manerix, but when I see him I will be asking to go back on Cymbalta to see if it was helping with the fatigue and muscle weakness.
I have gotten better at watching my diabetes lately; you do have to be careful. The nurse and dietitian said the high blood sugars could be causing symptoms. I just started insulin and was hoping it would work better. I guess they will have to adjust the amounts. I see the nurse and dietitian in a couple of weeks and will discuss it with her.
Im sorry you have to take time off school as well.
Thank you for the suggestions.
