Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Hi Neo, my names Krissy. I cant say i feel the pressures that many young men feel today, but i have always noticed there there for a lot of young men from "this generation" as you said. *Hugs*
Girls, do want relationships too even though it may not seem like it. It seems the roles have twisted and girls care more about "showing off" both sexually and materialistically especially just to rub it in there friends faces or to gain popularity which you find as you grow older, thts not as important. I do believe everyone does need someone in their life, everyone needs love. you sound young, dont be so shy (EVENTHO i know what im telling you is extremely hard) but if you stay as a shadow all your life it will just make things more difficult for you and others arounds you. With positive feelings and it will find you. Never give up, Please.
Take a few deep breaths and try and relax a bit. Have some patience with yourself. Relax the pressured expectations. You sound young, and if so, I guarantee you that you are not alone in trying to figure these things out. You just see the outside of other people, which is their best foot forward, but they are shuffling all their stuff around inside too.
If you see someone who looks shy, or alone, or having a hard time, go and be a friend to them. That’s good practice and you’ll probably make their day. Walk up and introduce yourself, ‘How it’s going?’ “Yeah, me too.” “I saw you standing over here and I just wanted to say ‘Hi.’ And then wait. Don’t say anything for a few seconds and see what they say. (Silence is very powerful.) They may ask you a question. Start dialoguing. If you want to say something, say it. “What class you in?” “Hmmm, I’ve going to……” If nothing else comes up, just say, “Well, I gotta go, I just wanted to say hi!” “See you around.” Keep it low key and easy. Doesn’t have to be a big deal. But you’ll gain confidence and friends.
Sometimes we set our expectations to high and then fear we are failing because we’re looking to the future, rather than the moments we are in. Here’s a real key to keep you relaxed. All you have to do is just do the next best thing. Just the next step. If you just focus on the next step, you will have more confidence and success. Don’t worry about the future or imagining what all might happen. Each step is moving forward, and you’ll be surprised how easy that is and then focus on the next step and so on. That is winning!
At work, the test is to develop a good attitude no matter what we are doing. If you can keep a good attitude at doing something you don’t like, you’ll be a barn-burner doing something that you do like. And people will want to be around you. It’s like a magnet. People like being around people who have a positive attitude. Pretend that this is an opportunity for you to improve yourself by doing the very best job you can on whatever you’re working on at the moment. You know you’re getting paid to work, so that’s a great thing, and you’re holding down a job, and that’s a great thing, so show yourself that you’re going to be the best dishwasher, or table server, or garbage can cleaner, or what have you, and take pride in doing it well. You will develop confidence, and see the work you hate in a little different light. Pretty soon you’ll be a star!
I know it's cheesy but when you're happy with you it will help in the picking up of chicks. You're a cool guy, there's nothing wrong with you. Look in the mirror every day and ask yourself how you're even any different from anyone else. You're not. You're just the same. You are no different from any guy, you just think you are, and it's thinking you are that's holding you back. :)
