Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I think you have gotten some good advice from chelle....but we also have to train ourselves to stop looking at all the negatives. I read something today while waiting in the Drs office...which is exactly what chelle said....we MUST force ourselves to write down or think about 3 things at the end of the day that made us HAPPY today.
Just the thought of coming up with 3 things...for me was depressing. Its like I don't want to focus on the good things...I don't know how to explain it...but the thought of it shuts me right down.
But because I read it in a medical magazine today and because it is mentioned here....by chelle.....I'm going to FORCE myself to do it tonight.....What do we have to lose?
Also, if you've been on your med for 5 years, its likely that its no longer effective. I was told that they quit working eventually, not sure if its true, something to talk to your psychiatrist about though.
Hope you start feeling better and find relief. Hang in there. Oh, and I love your dog.
