Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
So yes it is really hard.
If you would like PM me I have some good resources that I have found that seem to be helping.
I am thinking about how I can be around others but realistically with this social distancing thing I am doomed.
I keep telling myself that this is my chance to focus on me. To become better. No outside influences to distract me from my goals.
And then I keep doing the same things, and just sit around feeling sorry for myself.
I am very careful about social distance and washing, but again if you're not this great people person, that is not that hard. I do think there will be some demanding times for the next month (with some restrictions thereafter), but in a few weeks, we should flatten the curve, have sufficient hospital resources, and it will be just a demanding time. I had a vacation that had to be cancelled but candidly, now I can just relax, instead of having to spend a few thousand dollars and juggle work schedules to relax.
I can recognize that there are some possible bad scenarios, but whatever happens, I didn't cause it so its not my fault. Candidly I do screw things up periodically but again this one is not on me.
Bottom line, I'm relaxing, have some more time for reading or a movie, and don't have the pressure to be sociable.
I have a few days of happier days feeling adjusted and then like today thinking who am I kidding feeling depressed.
I thought my life was over before but now it officially is meaningless.
