I am wondering at this moment why I am alive. In marriage there are 3 parts that I see. Communication, physical, and friendship. I have been married for 15 years and I am scared to communicate with my husband due to his uncontrollable anger if I disagree with him. Lately, either he can't get aroused or it is literally over in less than a minute. As far as friendship, we have very little in common and do not talk because my opinions and ideas are always put down and made out to be stupid.
My step daughter just took off to Las Vegas for 7 days and left her 18 month old daughter with me to care for. I love my grand daughter but I was told that this trip was for a hair show and now I find out that she is only going to the hair show for 2 days. I feel used.
I have two boys who have been taught very well by their father to be lazy and wait for me to do everything for them.
I guess I just keep waiting for someone to realize that I might want to do something for me or have some time to myself. Is this all there is to life and if so, I don't want to live anymore!!!

sweetie you have to stand up for yourself. demand to be respected. you deserve it. something tells me your self esteem has taken a beating and you need to rebuild. life is too short to be so miserable, you have the power to make changes. this may not be easy but what the alternative? you suffer...not ok.

I have been told that life is too short to be unhappy but right now, I feel stuck. I am a teacher and I do not get a pay check during the summer so I have no money. We live in a house that my Mom owns and he would be the one to leave but the last time he was going to leave, he punched the wall about 1 inch from my head and then left the house after punching the cabinets and scared my boys. I have been told that he will not miss next time. I hate living in fear and hiding all of the secrets that no one else knows. he is an elder in the church and therefore we have a reputation to keep up and no one can know what happens in our house. I guess I keep telling myself that at least he has quit going to the gay porn sites and has not been talking online with other men in our town.

If it keeps up hun. Try and go to a womens shelter nearby if u can. But if it comes to it. Try and share his secrets with other so they can know what he is doing. Maybe some people can help you too. Just try and do some research online. Like i said message me if you need to talk.

Hun, if I were you, I'd gather together indisputable proof of all these things and then play them on a projector screen at church next time you go under the guise of a public service announcement. Include the abuse and threats of violence. He wont be able to touch you because, if he does, everyone will know who do it and he'll be sent to prison.

However, I do understand that this would be a scary undertaking and maybe others wouldn't feel able to do this. If that's the case (and that's perfectly ok. We're all different and handle things differently) then speak to relevant charitable associations in your area and any free national helplines as well trying to confide in family and friends where possible.

This man is abusing you and it will get worse. My mum's best friend was with a guy who used to belittle her for several years; he ended up putting her in hospital with a broken collarbone and several broken ribs. Please, don't let it get to that stage.

Good luck and know there will always be people here for you to talk to whenever you need them.

He has not hit me yet. He does like to manipulate me and threaten. He has threatened to shoot one of my guy friends and to take my boys from me. He blames most everything on my depression and how hard it is for him to deal with. It makes me feel like I am a burden on him. I just want to be loved and respected, not treated like a possession.
