Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
There is very little in the world that warrants such negative energy from me. I mean even Satan has my love as a protective measure against him. He feeds off of hatred. So not hating very much deprives him of what he needs. That being said , there are two things that have caused me so much pain in my life. And they're linked together in certain insidious ways. Depression is like a mental cancer. Cancer feeds depression. I absolutely and unequivocally HATE them both withe all of my being. I've lost too many loved ones to cancer. My depression has robbed me of my peace of mind and happiness time and time again. Eventually one or both of them may finally take me out. My money is on cancer. It runs in my family. This is all coming up now because my stepmom, Paulette passed away from cancer this morning around 3 o'clock. I had posted about her a while back. She no longer suffers. But it did cost her terribly before she finally passed. I feel like crap for not being there very much as things fell apart. Now I have more grief and pain that challenges me. Satan is watching and hoping I give up, finally. No such luck. I will not feed his hatred. My love for Paulette is still strong as it is for all my friends and family. So even though I hate depression and cancer. I still refuse to let that hatred rule my life. Sorry for the long venting session. I wish for all of you wonderful people to have enormous amounts of peace and happiness.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I won't say much here because I've written to you. I'll just say that you and your dad and family are in my thoughts and prayers and I know you won't ever let any kind of hatred rule your life. Like I told you, please please don't beat yourself up for feeling like you weren't there for her at the end. She knew how much you loved her, I know that for sure. R.I.P. sweet Paulette.

I'm very sorry for your loss! It's never easy to lose a loved one no matter what! Good for you for being determined to not let Satan win this one! You have actually inspired me.
Also, if you happen to see the deceased in a dream, and feel them tugging on you, obviously missing you, needing your love, as I have, don't freak out and wake up--embrace them with all your mind and heart! You won't regret it! It's a totally mutually satisfying communion!
A little bit of fear is always there, and that's OK, it's essential, actually, because without fear, we wouldn't know nor appreciate love. Without stress, we wouldn't know nor appreciate contentment. Without dark, we wouldn't know nor appreciate light. Without yin, we wouldn't know nor appreciate yang. So recognizing those extremes, and all the levels, shades of gray in between, creates balance, which is essential for survival.

Honor the dead, look at photos of your stepmom and remember her fondly. It's good to remember the dead.
I'm facing up to a situation where my father might have lung cancer and I'm praying he doesn't, but they're doing tests right now.
There is a great bereavement group on DS that might help you. I tried to link to it but DS or my Internet is being wonky right now so I can't.
It's good to have a place to vent, and DS is a good place to do that.
