Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Prior to SSRI use, and depression, I used to be up and out of the house in one hour. With continued use of the SSRI and additional anxiety medication, I found myself getting slower and slower in the morning.
One thing I found helpful, is that I set the alarm and take my ADHD medication about an hour or more before I have to wake up. I set my alarm again for my usual waking time and find I have an easier time moving along in the morning.
Hope that helps............
Prior to SSRI use, it would take me much longer to get ready in the morning than it does now, even. When I started, I got back to "normal" and my feelings and motivations were normal for a while.
I would have to guess that even my getting sick had to do with the especially stressful circumstances of my academic and personal life at that point. I've studied that people who have been depressed once, are much more likely to experience it again when in a stressful circumstance, so I guess I just have to work with myself.
Today, I woke up at 9 a.m. Good time because I went to bed after midnight and I had a productive day yesterday. But it's now 1:38 and I am just about to wash my face, brush my teeth and get going.
My space is very messy, so I am going to try a deep clean later when I have completed some important assignments. I know a clean space always makes me feel better.
