Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Much luck to you.
Please consider keeping an emotion diary. This will help you track your progress and let you have some observations to guide your medication choices.
Gentle hugs
BAD IDEA
Its ok if you don't want to take Zoloft...but you really sound like you should be on something and only your Dr. can help you get on the right thing.
I tried MANY drugs before I found one that worked.
But, you say all of a sudden you want to steal things (risky behavior) right?
Not normal thinking for you correct? You have to get the "thinker" fixed...and the only way is with medication.
I GET IT....no motivation to call....FORCE yourself..your happiness and well being is worth it.
I completely understand the lack of motivation, I generally don't have an issue with making appointments, but I struggle to do tons of things that need to be done. I really hope you do call your doc so you can try something different.
As for just stopping them, unless you havent been on them very long, my Dr recommends a wheening process.
I know this because I am in the process myself. Even with the slow process of stopping, Im having all kinds of side effects or withdraws from it. I actually hit a big depression spell yesterday and cried the day away. Unfortunately, I know it is a side effect or else I may have started taking them full time again. Its scary what it does to you when you dont take it on a regular basis.
Please be aware of the side effects you may get and contact the Dr if you are questioning something or starting to feel something that is scaring you.
Best wishes and good luck. Hopefully you find the right med for you.
You apparently have two conditions .. major depression and diabetes II. You are not qualified to treat either one. It takes an MD.
By not talking to your doctor(s) and taking their advice, you are risking:
1. Blindness
2. Congestive heart failure
3. Leg(s) or feet amputation
4. Kidney failure requiring dialysis up to 4 times a week.
5. Loss of ability to drive.
6. Loss of employment
7. Inability to care for yourself.
8. A host of other problems you don't want.

You should also realize that diabetes can and usually does negatively effect mood disorder. Your conclusion that Zoloft was not working or making things worse is PROBABLY way off base.
I strongly advise you to get absolutely clear on what your doctors(s) want you to do and then DO IT.
If there are questions/problems remaining, confer with them, .. or get a second opinion ... but do not make medical decisions on your own.
