Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I told them they were crazy.
Then I saw the news.
And then I knew who the crazy people were.
Today, we have the Patriot Act and Homeland Security. The terrorists won. They got the government to declare war on our individual liberties. Billions spent on TSA flunkies, and not one terrorist has ever been stopped by these sub moronic do-nothings.
I remember that day each and every day of my life. No, I didn't lose anyone close to me, however, I feel like I lost a multitude of *brothers and sisters* ....people like me, people like my family, my friends, and even people like those I may smile at for one brief moment and never see again.
I was up unusually early that morning. I logged onto the internet, grabbed me a soda and signed into Yahoo Games. I had the TV on but it was on some off the wall station that didn't break in for news.
As I started playing my first hand of pyramid solitaire, I saw someone in chat say "OMG....everyone, turn on the news! Something is happening at the WTC!" I turned it to CNN and and saw the smoke billowing and then just a few minutes later, saw the other plane come from the right of the screen for just a sec and I remember saying "oh fu*&" and then the fireball. I remember getting up from the chair and walking around the apartment thinking we were at war and just scared shitless. I went into the bedroom and woke up my ex (my then partner) and told her we were being attacked, that 2 planes had hit the WTC towers. I turned the TV on in the bedroom so she could see.
It seemed so surreal....then as news came in of the Pentagon being hit and then the plane going down near Pittsburgh, I just went into a bit of a panic (and to top it off, I had just recently been DX'ed with Social Anxiety with paranoia). I was a trainwreck that day.
I will never forgot that day. Ever. The whole thing is absolutely etched in my memory.
My thoughts from day one have continued for those who lost their lives, those who lost loved ones/friends/etc and those who witnessed it and went through it in person.
I know we aren't supposed to *hate* anyone, however, my hatred runs as deep as possible for those inhuman oxygen thieves who had anything to do with this tragedy and those who continue to celebrate it and plot anything similar.
Again, thanks hon for making this post...it felt good to get that out.
If there is anyone here who has lost someone, please know my thoughts and prayers have been with you since that day and will continue to be with you until I take my last breath.
For anyone who wants to light a candle for the people in this tragedy, here is a site I use:

so shocking and sad beyond words. i still feel that way.
Bless the loved ones, may the lost souls rest in peace.
That happened in such slow motion that it will be forever burned into my mind.

In the house made of dawn.
In the story made of dawn.
On the trail of dawn
Beauty before me,
Beauty behind me,
Beauty above me,
Beauty below me,
Beauty around me,
It is finished in beauty.
It is finished in beauty.

I was working in the emergency medical field when this all happened, and had it happened in my city, I would have been there, digging through the debris, looking for survivors. So this hits pretty close to home. I too remember where I was and what I was doing the day all this happened. Never forget.
