Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Aspergers is an interesting syndrome; they don't lie. They don't lie. They can be very selfish, and come across as cold because they don't really have empathy the same as the rest of us - but a door can beopened on that and they are logical to a fault. I can find out more from the daughter's BF if required. (PM me. I can ask him anything.)
The best way to get advice about how to handle teenagers is from teenagers. Their reality is simple. clear. small. If you try to get them to handle an adult one they balk and they tend to get kind of priggish at you... which is demeaning. the sort of thing I would have got a hiding for as a child, But the point is: don't soak it in. :) Let it flow away downstream. You yourself could even have a touch of aspergers.
You've been brave and had a long litany of crosses to bear but you don't have to give up. Just sit down and rest. You love the kids, and the kids love you. Don't overthink right and wrong or you will drown them in the bathtub; everyone under the age of about 30 is dreadful so just let them start dreadful and don't worry about it too much. Life will teach them consequences. You don't have to.
