Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I got a LOT out of a few videos I saw on 'the imposter syndrome' which I think speaks to my upbringing which also involved a mother with some level of narcissism (not formally diagnosed). I'm not saying you have imposter syndrome, just that I think you'll be able to relate and maybe get a lot out of it? it would have to be very extreme to have it, but a lot of stuff was there, that had been caused by my upbringing.
You have to learn how to not be a perfectionist, and how to accept your own humanity. Let yourself make mistakes, let yourself be wrong, let other people's wrongs float away along with your own... live in the stream of time. I found this very difficult having spent my entire upbringing having 2, 3, 6 hr post mortems on mere sentences I had uttered - but once I got in the swing of it, life improved dramatically.
