I empathize w/your contemplation all too well...it is a dilemma I (& perhaps others) face consciously every day - 'go on or give up'...not sure what support/advice I can offer other than letting you know that you're not by yourself in this internal struggle...

I decided to give it a month & that is coming up. I am as far down in the dark place as I have ever been. Might no post anymore but am not saying will end it but might. Just don't know right now. Have enough pain & sleeping pills stashed away to more than do it. I tried this way a few years ago & it would have worked but a girl found me & ended up getting stomach pumped was in a coma for days. If I try again I will make sure not found in time for anyone to stop me..

At 53, divorced and lonely so much of the time I totally understand your feelings. I often fall asleep at night praying God will take me in my sleep. HOWEVER, I could never do anything to end it all. When I am feeling that way I snuggle up with the two wonderful dogs I rescued and think what would happen to them? Where would they go? I made a commitment to them. Based on your photo you have a special little friend as well. Please find a special place you can volunteer. I know a gentleman who volunteers at the local animal shelter simply reading to dogs and cats, walking them and playing with them. There is an AWESOME purpose you would be providing something for these special God's creations they cannot provide for themselves.

I am so sorry you feel so hopeless. I can relate to your feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness and I have felt that way a lot. Is there anyone in your life who would grieve your passing? If so please hold off for their sake as suicide devastates those left behind. I see you have at one point had some success with sobriety. I encourage you to reach out to your AA friends, even if you have relapsed. Just know you are not alone and I am praying for you.
