I am so sick and tired of all this side effect B.S. Every single anti depressant and anti-psychotic that i've been on, i've had side effects. Now it sounds as if all this severe abdominal pain and nausea may be coming from the Mirtazapine that I was on for so long. I've been to the doctor like 3 times for this now and we can't seem to figure out what's going on. So, my mom and I did some research and found the side effects for the Mirtazapine. I have been in so much pain for 4 weeks now. Lets just say that as soon as we read the list of side effects, I immediately stopped taking the med. I have been on pretty much every single anti-depressant and anti-psychotic med on the market. At this time I don't plan on looking to try anything else. I will just have to look for alternative treatments for my major depression. schizoaffective disorder and anxiety disorder. All I have to say is that this pain and nausea better go away very soon. I stopped taking the Mirtazapine like maybe 2 or 3 days ago. It will take a while to get out of my system. But I sure hope it doesn't take too much longer.

Is your Dr. open to suggestions? Os is he the type that likes to come up with the answers by himself?

I know it can be a long proses to find the right meds in the right combination ..with the sidefects you can live with in order to have a life ......fo me I have to live with short turm memory loss ...so I will be talking to someone and I will just forget what I am talking about ...and I forget things all the time .....it stopes me from thinking in circles ...about thd same things over and over ...it breaks up my thinking ........but with it I have a life .....it took ...a very long time ...to get me on that med ...............there still might be some med out there that might work for you ..............so you can have a life .........alternitave ...methods can't hurt .............I will keep you in my prayers .....take care ..God bless

My doctor thought it might be a swollen pancreas. He ran blood tests. After a while my pancreas went back to normal but I was still experiencing lots of pain and nausea. So that's when he ordered an MRI. I don't know the results of that yet, but I imagine it should come back as normal. I am pretty sure that the mirtazapine is causing all my pain and nausea.

Sounds very frustrating to deal with. I've always been too afraid to try anti-depressants, despite over 20 years of depression that comes and goes. I found that Sam-e and omega 3s make a big difference. Natural and healthy is the best way to go sometimes.
Also the medication Gabapentin (Neurontin) has been very helpful. Very little side effects from that med. It's not an anti-depressant but lifts my mood noticeably.
Hang in there, and hopefully you'll find relief soon

I M NOT IN PAIN BUT I CAN RELATE 2 SIDE EFFECTS.
I M ON ANTI-DEPRESSANT, ABILIFY, BLOOD PRESSURE, AND SEIZURE MEDS.
I FEEL LETHARGIC ALL THE TIME.
I HAD BRAIN SURGERY IN 2009.
MY DR WANTED 2 TRY ANOTHER ANTIDEPRESSANT BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT SIDE EFFECTS I WOULD HAVE AS U HAVE ALREADY STATED.
