Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
When my husband and I were new here in America, I was lonely too. I'm 10,000 miles away from my family and I didn't have friends. It was not easy to adjust and it took time for me to have true friends. Whenever I missed my family, I would call them through international calls unlike nowadays that we have social media and communication is better.
Try to talk to your family about how you feel. It will help to ease your sadness knowing that you are not alone and you have a family that understands and supports you. You can also try to consult with a therapist. I pray that you will feel well soon and you will be happy again. I also pray that you can meet new friends soon. Please update us. We are here for you. God bless.
I lived ten years abroad. I did not fit in. It was very difficult to make friends especially since I suffer from agoraphobia and the language was also difficult to learn.
Every where you go is a reminder of the sadness you are feeling, because it is a totally different culture. That is a huge issue to grieve about.
The only thing that filled my heart with hope, is the fact that this world is temporary. We do have eternal life to look forward to and God's promises of a new life will come to pass. I'm a Christian. I believe Jesus is the only one that can fill that empty hole and give us eternal life, but in order to receive that hope I had to cry out to Him for help. Psalm 102:1 "Hear my prayer, Lord; let my cry for help come to you."
Jeremiah 33:3 Jesus is calling...
‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
I will pray for you!
Again, thank you.
Thank you for your words.
