Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with depression and anxiety? Mine has been flitting back and forth between depression, anger, and loneliness. My anxiety has been high too so I'm really jumpy. My coworkers have been enjoying scaring the shit out of me. I know I can't get rid of some of my stressors.

Ice passed away in February at 17yrs old. She collasped one day and that was it. I am still crying. I miss her so, so much.I miss the smell of her paws, playing with her scruffy beard, listening to her bark in her sleep, the way she nudges my hand with her nose during our walks. I see her everywhere. In my car, at the door, under my desk, the neighborhood. I want to hold her and kiss her so...

I lost my dog last July to cancer, as some of you might remember. It was devastating and I got very depressed, but through treatment I got back to "my normal" last month. I've been poking around the rescue sites to adopt a dog and I've seen a few since July and I visited them but decided I wasn't ready. I actually adopted one in September but realized I was too depressed and it was a mistake so I...

It's really cool that you have such loving workmates by the way. :D So nice. Get a nerf gun. When they freak you out, shoot them.
I would love to shoot them with a nerf gun but I don't move fast enough to get them before they run off and some of them are managers lol.
THERE is the problem. It is a clinical fact that one cannot treat their own depression. Getting right to the point .... get to your doctor and get MEDICIALLY treated because you CAN'T handle it on your own.
Also I have talked to people that deal with their depression without medical help. It is possible.
Nutrition is really important. Sleep and I found emotional processing time vital. And going through each thing. Just getting through them all. It's like the old saying: how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
Everything we experience is something we can fully process and learn from. I used to try to describe it as a jigwas puzzle. One of those really big ones. Of the sea or a wave or something. Every piece of that puzzle hard work to place. But every piece, once you place it? Integrated, assimilated. Painless and simply adds to a picture of reality that grows and grows and can surprise you.
Every emotional experience is a jigsaw puzzle piece. everything you learn is a jigsaw puzzle piece. A small part of a much larger whole that has to be placed correctly to get a good big picture.
I had a nervous breakdown: that's my jigsaw puzzle, put together wrong and badly, getting smashed to start again. And guess what I had to do after that? i had to start again. From the beginning. I was like a little child, every fact was up for grabs...
I have got through a lot of it in the last six years, and it's an easier way to live. I am clearer and I have better understanding. I've put it together better this time. It makes much more sense now.
That as a metaphor was probably really hard to follow. I find this stuff really hard to describe. But humans have functioned in certain ways for 10,000 yrs and we are trying to change the rules on them now: we can't adapt that fast.
So if you don't have the money for the co-pay, perhaps just accept your human reality, and see this all as part of the deal, and take each event and give yourself enough time and emotional space to mull it over, and assimilate it.
