Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I used to come here for support. Now my posts quickly go to the backburner unless they are a critique of me. I've been repeatedly and aggressively attacked, had rude and sarcastic comments thrown my way on a group for people with depression and self-esteem problems. The ignore feature still shows these comments before they are removed.
This used to be a great place. Now every post, I fear will either get ignored if it's one where I'm in need, or I'm critiqued left and right if I share something where I stood up for myself.
I don't know what happened to this group but it's changed and it certainly isn't a place for someone like me with depression and self-esteem issues to turn to anymore. Feel free to comment all you like now. I won't read them and I'm leaving this group until it returns to the place of support it used to be, if that ever happens.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

God Bless
If you do bring it to our attention, please make sure to reference the post by name, the group it is in, and the response that you feel is an attack.
The more useful move to you would have been for you to stop, and listen, and say 'yeah, you're right. I came away with no money back, no certificate, no nothing. I spat the dummy, blew my stack, and then I lost everything. yes, that happened.' Instead you go into denial.
We've all blown our stack. We've all sent that letter. And we've all lost jobs and lost money. Nobody here was describing anything they hadn't already done themselves. And if we don't hate ourselves for having done it, that's an indication we don't hate you either. You ballsed something up. That's cool. We all balls up. Now let's face that and accept what it has to teach, and move on.
I know what the Depressions and Low Self esteem is like. I have to work towards the solutions constantly. This is accomplished by trying to keep out of my own thoughts, reaching out to others, meditation, and chating with people Like yourself. So if you do decide to return and you read this post I hope you are having a better day. And if you didn't read this post I want to thank you for helping me get out of my own thoughts for a while.
I lost nothing by telling that company I didn't want the job. I gained the opportunity to go back to school and seek out employment with people I have already worked with. Thanks to a combination of working on campus, disability and the support of financial aid (grants, loans, scholarships), I'm moving by May.
Pepperman, seeing posters that are blocked when not signed in is a problem with DS. I don't know if that post is removed for me only or for everyone but I don't want to see them at all. Can more be done in this area other than avoiding reading anything until signed in?
I will not tolerate abuse or attacks. If you engage in such behavior, I will immediately report you. Fair warning to any compelled to take out their own issues on me or others.
