Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
And I keep lying to them. How do I tell them? How do I explain to them how I'm hurting? Why I'm hurting? In three days, they get to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones. They get to go to their respective parents houses and spend the holiday with them. Me? I'm going to work. And when I get home, they won't be here. They'll be celebrating. For as long as I can remember, I've always been able to make it to my family for the holidays. This year, that all changes. This year, I'll be all alone. Family is so important this time of year. And mine is scattered. I'm alone.
Either way, it does suck. We're here for you, even on holidays.
Does your town have a Christmas 'thing?' Ours has this huge lights display that you walk through, they sell hot chocolate, it's gorgeous. I know going alone sounds lonely, but it can be fun too...or maybe a movie? Lots of goodies opening on Christmas Day this year.
