Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
There is simply no way to fight it. To make it in the dog eat dog world in not just teaching but many other fields you need to be very saavy as to what is happening in and around yourself.
I can't do it either and have been blindsided like that many times.
So sorry I can't be of more help except to tell you you are not alone.
I find it helps not to be too friendly or share much of your personal life with people in new situations until you learn who you can trust.
AND- like that's all we need to go along with the crappy personal issues we're having to deal with, am I right? jeeze!
Now I'm teaching at a tiny school for dyslexics and make about a 1/3 of what I made before but it's so nice. It was really hard to find another job using my skills with my credentials and I wish I made more so I could leave my house faster, but I'm happier with life- so there's always a trade off.
I hope everything works out for you and that you can find a way to deal with it. It is hell to be treated badly at work when you're trying your best.
It makes you feel like you never can ever do anything right, and the worst part is that people have a vile idea of who you are based on very little information and their own vileness..
I'm sorry you were treated that way. People are too stupid to be given any power.
