Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
i think depression is a lot like an addiction... you might never be rid of it forever, there might always be a twinge of it that remains... but if we can go a little longer each time between depressive episodes then we're doing good
im like you tho, its very hard for me to look at my life in a positive light... i get a lot of thanks on this board for the 'good advice' i give out, when i can, but i never seem to be able to follow much of that advice myself either
try to focus on the good times... theres no sense in dwelling in the bad... yes, the world is full of darkness and pain... but theres also light and life and love...
whenever you catch yourself dwelling on the bad, try to force yourself to see the good... after a while, it'll become a habit... just like focusing on the bad became a habit
anyway, i hope this helps some at least
