Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Is there someone at work you can tell you can trust? Is there anyone in your life at all that you can tell that you can trust?
This is only going to get worse until you turn it around. But maybe you can make a start with taking vitamins, eating better... and slowly, slowly ease down on the alcohol.
Quietly.
So it doesn't notice and attack.

Thank you so much again for your support.
I'm going to take your advice
There is a thing on the aeroplane safety check where they say 'put your own oxygen mask on first'. I hope that becomes a metaphor for mental health because it's so true. If you aren't looking after you, then nobody is looking after you. They're all busy looking after themselves. They may notice but don't like to interfere in your private business. They may hope you crack from the pressure, and stop overdoing it, but you can't help someone crack from pressure and also help them carry pressure.... it's a tough one.
Just know though that ultimately nobody wants you to go into deficit for them. Nobody wants you to exhaust yourself for them. It's not expected. It's not needed.
What's needed is for you to start babying you. Take care of you. Spend your weekends pampering you. The vacuuming can wait, the gardening can wait. Everything can wait.
I spent a couple of years going to work, doing my work to survive - getting home and doing nothing. but the minimum. The absolute minimum. xx
