Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I guess I don't feel so bad about my situation, and not being employed. I know that may sound shitty given the serious situation in the world right now.
I am just busy with working on my personal, photo website also I have a "job" website that I am working on. I am not sure if it will earn me money though.
So I do that. Also listen to music,
I also try to remember that right now, I'm safe at home vs stuck at home. That slight shift in thinking makes a difference for me.
It's inevitable to feel stuck sometimes, and it's important to acknowledge all of our feelings. Still, how we think about things can really make a difference, so reframing thoughts can be helpful.
Wishing everyone peace <3
I am not saying today or tomorrow... but when it is again safe. I do think we will all be a little more eager to even get out for a movie or bite to eat... or even a walk to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.
Hugs to all. stay safe.
I think you and your husband are doing a great start at this isolation being agoraphobic and all. Can I ask what did you do before this pandemic started? Were there certain places you liked to go visit? Lakes, parks, driving around? Keep all this in mind for later down below...
Do you remember the story of Anne Frank? She lived in isolation for how many YEARS to survive also but we have it so much better, don't we? At least we get to roam about our houses as loud as we want, go outside whenever we want, even go to the stores in an emergency.
So now with everything available all we/you have to do is open up that imagination portion inside your brain and let it go wild.
You say you wanted to learn how to paint, great. You already bought some paint now watch some youtube videos online and start painting. Paint anything. You have pets? Paint your pets, paint a picture of each other, paint a picture off a puzzle box. Then when you are good enough you can paint like Bob Ross.
Next you wanted to go to the pool? well, fill up your bathtub if you got one. Buy a bunch of toys from the dollar store (dog and cat toys) If the tub is large enough invite your husband in there and then...
You wanted a movie night? Order a movie or rent a movie from a Redbox (social Distancing) A movie that you both have never seen before. Hang white sheets around your living room. Darken the room. Turn the volume way way up, and there you go.
You want to lose weight? Look on youtube for stay at home exercises. You have cans of veggies in the cupboard? do curls. Run or walk fast around the house and enjoy the air.
Go shopping!!! In your own closet. Put different outfits together. Have a dress up dinner night to know your progress of getting back into your office clothes.
I hope this helps open up your and everyone else's imagination during this time.
Take care.
