Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I need much time alone, but if I go 2 days isolated, then I can fall down into despair again.
I think humans need other human touch and compassion and empathy to survive.
XO
Nights like tonight remind me why I became a solitary creature at such a young age, to begin with. Everywhere I went, everyone was annoying and fairly unpleasant. The only person who bothereed to smile was the cashier at Walmart (I know, Rima, don't faint...). People were driving like they'd left their brains back at home in a jar...it was unreal, like a warm-up to Halloween.
Truly, I prefer the quiet and solitary and predictable atmosphere of home, I do. I do not suffer from being alone; I thrive on peace and quiet.
But you are right GidgetW, humans do need compassion and empathy - the physical touch isn't something that matters to me. However the only compassion and empathy I have received has been in the virtual world. I receive more empathy and compassion while in isolation than I ever would face-to-face with anyone.
Remind myself when people were fun, enriching, & I felt that they had something to offer. (maybe it me that isn't offering)??? I recently read a book about boundaries: when yours are too loose you say yes when you shouldn't, you get burnt out and just can't say anything anymore...
Yep: that's me looking for reasons
But Still, there is a lot of peace without others...
I do like the idea of not going more than 2 days... good rule
Thanks
I get in the water and it's just me and nature.
It gives me a boost.
