Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
What are you interests? :)
I usually like to read and write, lately I just like comedies and loud distracting youtubers.
Should I be replying to these as private messages? That seems weird, but other people aren't informed if I reply here right? I don't know...
My name is Pepper, and I am one of the user moderators assigned to the depression group. (Yes, I have depression; user moderators are selected from the user pools of the group they are asked to be a moderator for.)
This is a standard post; it is an open discussion and it is readable by anybody and everybody. It is our anonymous nature that protects the "real us" from this stuff. Share what you feel comfortable sharing here. This is a great way to get to know people.
If you start to venture into areas that you wish to be more private, then get to know people and then you can share private messages with them; but that then becomes private and only the 2 of you can read them. (OK, system administrators can read everything, but that is true on all sites).
For example, if you find somebody who has a combination of issues that are very important to your situation and you are not ready to disclose them to the open community here, then if you have a good relationship with that person then PMs are a great way to go!
There is also a journal function here; you can set journal entries to be open to all, to friends only, or to you only.
I live in Los Angeles along with millions of other people. My garden is shaping up for a good summer run this year, but my lawn is in terrible shape due to the recent drought. I hope to have a lot of peppers (get the PepperMan connetion???) and tomatoes. I look forward to summer days when a dinner sandwich consists of some nice left over BBQ roast and THICK slices of garden fresh tomato slices. Add some herbs from the herb garden and, if we have enough time, fresh baked bread, sigh, heaven!
OK, so that is a quick look into me and my world!
Welcome to DS
It would be nice to share some stories of where you live and the adventures you've been on that lead you to the dailystrenght site,
As for THEPepperMan, this is such a coincidence because my father is also the Pepper Mam, Pepper Man Frank they call him, He is a third generation pepper farmer and master of preparation and canning; of course his 8 children help out when he does this 4 times a year. He sells them by pint or quart to people all over the south-eastern part of WI. We are from Kenosha.
Jenna please friend me.
I am looking for people to talk to as well.
Feel free to send me a private message.
I wonder what it's like living with your mother again? I am in a strange living situation too and would be happy to compare notes.
Flowers... I like them, but I am nervous about gardening, which goes back to my past along with many other issues.
All the best!
Welcome to Daily Strength. I am also looking for others to talk with. Please feel free to message me anytime. I live in Maryland in the D,C. Baltimore area. We are having beautiful Spring weather here. I have been outside a lot lately working in my flower beds. I have a lot of gardening to do. I also like to bake and most of all, I like spending time with my grandchildren, ages 3 months to 3 1/2. years. I am here whenever you want to talk.
