Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Meet up.com has groups you may want to join with people who have similar interests.
For me, therapy never worked. Neither did medication. I turned to meditation, mindfulness and meditative breathing. It helps to separate yourself from your thoughts. Your thoughts aren't you. They are thoughts. You have thousands everyday. Some are worth attention. But most, especially the negative ones, can be watched as they go by, like a movie. It takes work but it helps and it's doable.
A support group is a great idea to help you not to feel alone and isolated. Have you tried your local church? Most of the churches have groups that can help to bring encouragement using the Scriptures and very useful to bring healing and comfort.
I pray that you will keep on going in spite of the pain you are going through and you will you will overcome. Please keep us posted, we are here for you. I hope you will feel better soon. Take care.
