A recap....I came home from GramyBears place to the news a family member tried to kill themselves.
UPDATE
After finally talking I found out why he tried and though the reason upset me it also made mew realize how much he values my POV and my love for him. It turns out that for the last few years he has been living a homosexual life and he was terrified of coming out figuring everyone would hate him for it. He said to me I have something on my mind that's going to really piss you off and I said just spill it, honesty is the best policy.he then blurts out um... Im ...aaaa....oh hell Im gay!!! I looked at him for a minute it was deathly quiet (for him it probably felt like an hour)
Choosing my words carefully I drew in a long breath and said OK....so what have you got to tell me that is going to piss me off???
You hate fags he says to me and I said yes...I do but I have no problems with someone who is gay. Totally confused I explained to him there are guys and there are assholes, ladies and bitches, gays and fags. Still completely gone I had to spell it for him. I told him I don't agree with homosexual relations and a person who is gay might say they feel comfortable with the same sex or attracted to. Now that's a gay individual....a fag would be off the deep end calling me homophobic and a whole host of other nasty names
So long as you are happy and not hurting another person then for me its a non issue. Im not comfortable with a gay life style and you have to respects that. You for what ever reason have chosen a gay life style and I have to respect your preference. As a family member do I love him any less? He's blood ...of course not.

I'm relieved your friend survived his suicide attempt. He must trust you a lot to open up to you, especially when he thought you hate gays. It makes me sad how many young people commit suicide because of their sexuality and fear of coming out. I hope your friend has support that encourages him to be who he is. Its a hard road to walk down, but better than living a life in secrecy. Thanks for loving him.

I am sorry he had to make a suside attempt befor he could be able to talk about this with you ...but you know it goes much deaper than ....that ..it is this socity ...and how the subject has been delt with ...for so long ...how people have been hurt and lost there families .....you are very important .to him ..I think you ..being so honest with him .has realy made a diferance in. his life ..............take care ..God bless ....
