Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Welcome in! And I'm so sorry that you are feeling hollow. You mention that many counselors want to help yet you are uncertain that these folks are skilled enough to understand your level of needs. So I ask, through all of your experiences, are you willing to share any news of why you think this way? And are you or have you finished the course of therapy with any one of them?
Sending welcoming hugs to you. I hope for you all that you can imagine which is good in your life today.
It is my sincere belief that some people in the field of professional counseling are not yet through with learning. And as you personally feel that a counselor is not getting you then it is best to quit them. However, I will tell you that part of good therapy is the plan to cause clients not to feel comfortable at given times, and the majority of their time is spent in the stimulus of frustrating one to the point of expressing unflattering thoughts and behavior. I recall myself wanting to personally throw my therapist through a glass pane window. Gosh, he was so annoying. I usually waited until he left the room and peeked at his assessment notes. (yes, this is private but about me, thank you) He had the gall to describe a dress I wore to my appointment on that day as flamboyant in style. What has my dress got to do with anything!?.
Yeah, I can understand your concept of some of your therapy sessions. Yet I have come to believe that there are still good therapists out there. I hope for you to find the treatment you seek.

The last few days have been bearable but just barely. I am feeling very alone. My husband is still here but he doesn't seem to be emotionally available anymore. We are more friends/ roomates than married. I get a hug when I ask. I'm so tired emotionally that sometimes I don't bother asking anymore.ifeel like a burden.
