Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
You must undertake this path with guidence from family and friends. Dont swell on the hard times or bad situations and do all you can to be a good man!
Treat women with equality and respect, treat all people that way and you will go far!
Best of luck to you!
Stay single saves stress.. IMHO
My advice to you (and what I'm currently learning) if you make a mistake, learn from it and move on. Don't keep going back to that mistake! Tomorrow is a new day! I tell myself that everyday! Life wasn't meant to be easy.. It is meant to test you, to save you, and to show you things you never thought existed! Stress is a part of life. You're going to face it a lot! It's how you handle it that matters! Go swimming when you can.. Even If it is just for 10 minutes.. It gives you a chance to clear your mind. Let everything in the pool! All the stress sinks to the bottom as you're swimming on top! Listen to music! Tune out the world for a little! Most importantly when you need help.. Ask for it! :) welcome to the group by the way!
Another thing, accept people as they are and never expect them to change. If they are cynical, or point out the negative in most situations, or are in the habit of creating drama, or disloyal... they will almost certainly be like this to varying degrees throughout their life. Think about what you value most in other people, and look for people who already demonstrate these qualities.
Always be aware of the things that make you feel most alive... swimming, hobbies, particular people, etc. and make sure to include these things in your daily routine. When you are enjoying yourself, savor it fully, and appreciate the moment. Most often, the best memories are the little moments we take for granted while we're pursuing "bigger things"...the stuff society says will make us happy but often doesn't...(money, career, prestige)...it's the journey that really matters. So, enjoy happiness wherever you can find it, even if it's just a little thing, because happiness is just the sum of millions of little things.
Also, follow your instincts, nobody knows what is best for you more than you do. If you feel in your gut that you should do something, do it - regardless of what other people say, you gotta follow your own path, and there are no mistakes, just life lessons. Believe in yourself. No matter what you do, people will like you and people will not like you....listen to yourself and you'll always stay on track.
I have learned that God can speak even through a donkey, so I try not to dismiss council or advice. I try to weigh it for what it is.
Be a good man, fair handed and equitable. Just.
Be a strong man, count the cost of a decision before making it.
Then stick to it. Never give up...or dont make it a habit...lol.
Be a gentle man, respect others and always check your emotions.
Do not be easily offended.
If you believe in God, love Him above all else and get to know Him.
Save your tears for God.
Save your sensitivity for the woman of your dreams and your kids.
Love and cherish the wife of your youth.
I could go on for days...it is not a simple task. This world needs strong men.
The things I listed will give you plenty of opportunities for failure.
They are more like ideals to live up to...a direction in which to go.
Take care of your mental health. Stay away from bad mental health workers and stick to good ones.
Try to own your own car and be as independent if you can OR if you are in college and need assistance, tolerate the parents and get that degree.
Stay away from drug people and toxic people who party. Be safe when celebrating and celebrate with mentally healthy people.
Stick with sports and have fun but be careful. Watch out for people who use you and idiots.
Respect older people but stay away from toxic older people who try to start rows and other stupid stuff.
Take it slow with relationships. Stay away, again from toxic people.
Give time time. As I said to someone who was 25, I've seen most folks get to self realization between about 28 and sometimes that might go to about age 32 or 34. Take your time.
Enjoy your world-maybe travel the world.
Adventure is okay as long as you are safe about it. For example, if you want to rock climb, make sure you have a guide and proper safety protocols and equiptment.
You are going to make mistakes. Do forgive yourself. Just use common sense.
19 is a difficult age. So much stuff gets shoved at you.
Don't take any crap but dont' start fights.
Have fun but be safe.
Don't hurry about dating and all that.
That kind of thing.
