I have already had like a month's worth of excitement in just a few hours. First I wake up at two this morning and something tells me to check my bank / credit union account balance. They took out over six hundred dollars that I did not authorize. Then later on my way to have some breakfast I see this kid on a bike in the middle of the street I live on. He is weaving around and acting funny. Then as he pulls off into a parking lot , I notice why he is weaving. He is steering the bike with one hand and carrying a baby in the other arm. He notices me and ditches the bike in the parking lot. I call the police and follow him as best I can. The police respond in less than 10 minutes and get both of them into custody. Sometimes I think a higher power challenges us. I was put in the right place at the right time to notice these children possibly at risk. And it was dark out. Thank goodness it turned out the way it did. So that is why I am stressed out and stoked at the same time.

Did you ever find out from the cops: Was the baby the guy's own kid or was the guy kidnapping the baby? Either way, to take a baby on a bike without being strapped into a seat of some kind is not good.
As far as the $600, yeah, don't sweat it. The bank has a fraud investigation department for that stuff and the funds should be FDIC insured. You won't lose your money.
First, THANK GOSH you were in the right place at the right time and you called 911. Something really bad could've happened and YOU, my precious friend, prevented that.
As far as your bank acct. being down 600 bucks from activity you didn't authorize, I wouldn't be concerned. I am sure you aren't liable and it will all get straightened out tomorrow.
