Not sure what to do anymore. My self esteem is so low that I can't look at myself in the mirror. When my husband touches me I feel gross, like he can feel every imperfection on my body. Every roll smooching under his hands. All I can think is "how can he love this? How can he want me?" And I think the answer is that he doesn't, that he just settled for me because I've been there for him when no one we was. I feel stupid thinking that he could want me. And that he must think I'm just that desperate for someone to love me that I pretend that everything is OK .
But over the years I've noticed that my boyfriend doesn't give much about the "perfect body" that I think he wants. He often finds it even hard to notice when I changed something on my appearence. To him I'm beautiful and that's it. I don't think he's thinking about this as much as I do. But I know that he notices it when I cook for him. And when we laugh together I can sometimes see the love in his eyes. I think for men beauty isn't the same as for women. Actually it's the same for me too. Even if my boyfriend would look like a goblin or monster, I will always love him more than anything in this world and to me he'd be the most sexiest and cutest monster ever. Because he is so much more than his looks. And I am too. It's important for me to remind me of that.
Beauty isn't only defined by looks, so please cheer up and trust your husband. Every imperfection of your body is what makes you unique. But the way you love others and yourself is what really defines your beauty.
