Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Sometimes it can take time to find the right counselor. I think it's worth another try. I feel that when you find that person you can connect with the healing can be so powerful.
I'm glad that it can help to write things down. I hope that you find some joy and peace. You have to search for it. I don't think it ever just appears. There are little things that make you feel even a moment of happiness everywhere. For me sunshine and nature are two of the big things. Its winter here but today I went for a walk by the beach and just being around the happy families and friends playing made me feel a bit of peace.
And some people don't benefit from therapy until they get on medication.
Your depression can't get better on its own. Talk with your physician who prescribed it. But, I'm pretty sure he/she will ask why you stopped taking it. Maybe you could start taking it again?
I keep busy too. It helps me to climb out of the deep sinkhole called depression.
Take care and good luck.
