so im 41, which doesnt bother me, but because of my situation with my wife i have no car, i have no income and because i take care of my father 12 or so hours a day 6 days a week, things are so depressing, i have no physical friends, anyone i know is over the computer and such.


i cant get to know anyone new because i have no car, nor do my folks, i am lucky to have insurance that will cover transportation to my therapist.


everything is starting to weigh on me badly, i once owned my own home, had a car, had a great job, now i live a piss poor existence.


because of my separation things are worse, my bipolar is off the wall, i think bout killing my self all the time, i have no one to talk to bout things other then a couple of people i know, who have their own crap to deal with, i feel un-important, i feel useless, i feel like garbage, i feel like i should be punished for my past sins.


this isnt a life, i merely exsist.

Have you looked into the system paying you as a caregiver for your father? Just a thought that since you’re investing 72 hours per week there might be a way to receive payment through the healthcare system. I would imagine that you’re providing care for him at his home so you make it possible for the socialized medical system to have him remain in his home instead of a nursing home environment. Look at your position from every angle and I know I have to listen to my own words but try to find a positive spin on your situation because for any of us that position can suddenly be harmful to ourselves. yes i take all my meds correctly and i do take care of him for that long pretty much, but the final say so on anything medical for him is my mother, i can try calling bout getting paid, but i believe i tried that once and my state doesnt offer anything like that

I'm in a very similar situation. Everything I own is in storage, due to the fact that I live at my dads. I take care of him also. I at least do have a jib and my truck. But no social life or any real enjoyment.

I bought a small travel trailer just to have some place to walk away from my dads house. Its parked in his side yard.

He is getting hard of hearing. He BLASTS the TV and it drives me crazy. I cook, clean etc. But the noise level drives me nuts.

At least I can get away for 8 hours a day. I feel for you, being Stuck there 24/7.

I would like to have my own home, my own things around me. But not until he's gone. So I'm stuck in a way too.

Hang in there. I know its hard and lonely and depressing.

I often have feelings like you. My 23 yr old daughter wrecked my car. I haven't had a car over a year now. Saving for another, but very low income. On disability. I charged over $10,000 to add to her college scholarship so she could graduate debt free. Now she has a wonderful job, car, and apartment. Never calls me. Not over Christmas even. She says I don't deserve her help since I'm on disability. One thing that helps like a mini vacation is to look at the sky or something in nature. Force myself to describe it mentally and feel grateful for that moment.
