I get it now. I get the amount of pain a person has to be in to want to end things. I am there. I want to die.
I lost 3 friends to cancer. My youngest brother passed away in 2010. And yesterday while undergoing a dental procedure, our cat suffered a stroke. The vet never had that happen before so she is unable to give us a prognosis. I should have said no to the dental procedure. She cannot walk....and cries non-stop. She cannot be left alone. We have to work...but what if there is a chance she will get better. I have read on line where that has happened. I have no children....2 of my birds died last week.
I do not like the thoughts going through my head and i had to cancel my therapy so my husband can go into work tonight. I don't want to be alone tonight. But there is no one to call. I have to drive to the vet now to pick up pain meds. It is an hour drive there and an hour back. This will be my 4th trip this week. I cannot concentrate and all I can think about is how easy it would be to drive into a tree.
I know It sounds crazy that it took a sick cat to break me.....I want someone to hold me and not let go.

My second concern is my husband. Most of you are aware that he and i are having problems. But Frosty is his buddy and always has been. My husband moved out of our bedroon 6 years ago, it is Frosty that sleeps nex t to him, her head in his hand. He has never been one to show emotion, but he broke down while talking to someone about her condition. If i could carry his pain as well as my own, I would.

I know you are loath to think of this, but it may be time to consider your cat's quality of life versus quantity of life. I know it is hard, having walked this path several times, but sometimes the kindest act of all is the final one.
