Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I hear others comment about being in a daze on meds but I have never felt that. I have a Doctor I trust and he always says we just need to find that right cocktail when talking about changing, missing, meds until we hit the combo that works.
Personally I did not trust that I could get by in the world with my anxiety until I tried it. It's very hard this way but I'm surviving- though I know I don't live your life and my depression's in remission right now, I hope I can give you some hope?
Best wishes.
With that said, it is manageable with the proper lifestyle, meds, therapy, etc. I sometimes go 8-12 months without having a major depressive episode, but it’s something I will have to be vigilant about for the rest of my life.
Good news is, there are ways to overcome it, or at least manage it, rather than the other way around. Most of that seems to involve retraining the brain. I found in the past that meds made it easier to get back in the fight, but a therapist helped me overcome, although that was more PTSD.
I hear a lot of people talking about building a toolbox. You might want to check in with that.
Firstly, I'm actually glad i'm not alone and that what i'm feeling is common.
Thank you for your advice and wisdom.
I do enjoy many creative things - blogging, drawing and DIY projects.
I also enjoy working out and spending time with my friends.
I think having moved from home to another province (state) where I don't know anyone sometimes gives me a sinking feeling after giving me a sense of accomplishment (I moved with no support because of chasing dreams) and I sometimes want to just have a good ass day laughing with my friends.
I feel like a baby here and I have managed to convince myself that future me will be grateful and appreciate that I removed myself from a toxic family space.
So what I know here is that I must find remission tools for my new life here, tools that don't involve other people because people change or move on and my happiness cannot be affected by that.
Thank you everyone!
