This question pops up from time to time here. Yes, several here have tried it. Some with very good results!

Not sure if it can cause sunburns, what sort of wattage bulbs are you considering?

I have not but I am interested. I do not think they are like tanning beds but broad spectrum lights like natural light would be if that makes sense. I have been waiting for the sunbeam through my window today and took a nap in it like a cat.

Pepperman I am just now looking into them. I burn easily ..thus the question about burning.
The sun popped out really bright here the others day....first time I think all winter and it made such a huge difference in my spirit! So now I'm thinking maybe trying one of these lamps might be a good idea.

I have one and it won't cause a sunburn or anything. I have a day light full spectrum model. Before I got sick it was pretty helpful I used it for around 30 minutes a day and it didn't hurt that's for sure. It's just like averybright reading light and you have it positioned just above your eyes aiming at the top of your eyes just like a table lamp.

You will not burn. They filter out the damaging UV. not all of it, but a large amount. Be sure to get LED as they don't pump out massive amounts of UV to begin with, are cheaper on power and emit more in the blue-white range of light. I don't remember the exact numbers, but our sky(outdoor) emits 15,000-27,000K and some SAD lights emit 5,50010,500K which is what you will get from an LED based light and will not burn you.

I know a lady that uses it and says it's wonderful. Aren't they something that costs a lot though?
