Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
They think and say things like, "Well, just get over it." Or... "Oh please, you don't have it half as bad as I did when I was young".
They don't understand for many Depressive personalities, they don't have the right chemistry to be very happy. Depressive people dwell on things and worry differently than other so called, " Normal" people.
Anxiety and Depression usually go hand in hand.
See if you can get a brochure on Depression. Give it to your mom and be very serious and say, Mom... This is me! This is what my life is.
Talk to a counselor at school. You need to be heard. And you need to be understood.
Parents aren't really all that insensitive to their children's needs. They often times are ignorant to their needs.
Don't take your moms pills or anyone else's. Try to stay calm.
You have support here too.
Talk to a counselor... or someone...
Please, please, please don't try to commit suicide. It may sound trite, but things will get better. I've had four attempts and never ever want to wake up in the ER, ICU or a psych ward ever again.
Just because your mom doesn't understand you is no reason to check out. Please do something to distract yourself. And, tell yourself to wait 48 hours. It's a short amount of time, but you will experience an ocean of emotions over that period of time. Your mind will change about suicide.

After a few years, I found myself happy, married and with a beautiful baby girl. I never could have imagined it a few years earlier.
Keep looking for someone to talk to who does understand. A school councilor is a good place to start. Best wishes and keep coming here for support. It does help.
