Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

The simple concept behind group therapy is that people can relate to what others are going through and offer support and advice. It’s also a way for people to feel less-isolated and alone, knowing there are many people who are struggling like they are. Platforms like this serve as kind-of an online group therapy. It’s been a very help way of expressing myself throughout the years.
Thank you to everyone who has responded, and yes I know this can seem suspicious. I don't mean it in that way, and I hope no one has felt pressured or uncomfortable in response to my post. To give a bit more background on why I'm inquiring, I'm a freshman at a local community college and I have a research project in my Cultural Anthropology class. It's all about connecting and understanding a group in which you are not personally connected with. We had pretty broad guidelines for studying an online group because this project is typically done in person, but I wanted to do something with anxiety/depression because it's something I have struggled with, but I've never involved myself with an online community. I am currently 18 years old and I can remember having my first panic attack around the age of 10 or 11, and ever since, I've had problems with it. I completely understand that there are vulnerable people on here, and I only hope to show the utmost respect for them. From what I've seen, I can't find any rules necessarily prohibiting posts about this type of concept, and I hope that that clears everything up. I have contacted DS asking about this and I'm just waiting for a response, I will update once I get one. Once again, thank you to everyone who has responded, it means so much, and thank you to everyone who told me to look further into the rules of this website, that also helps me out a lot! :)
GOOD JOB and good luck.
