not true, my Man .. not true.
>> i'm 18 and I just completed my first semester of college
Nah .. not true. In fact, you will probably attain amazing success .. because you understand yourself so early on.
You have identified a problem ... now ... fix it. It is that simple. Ignore it, ... and you are a loser.
C'mon, my friend ... do it ... turn it around ... throw yourself into sometihing you want to do. You have every opportunity to succeed, but you have to do it.
You're having a crisis. But talking about killing yourself is truly insane. You are at the START of your life. you have no idea how great your life can be. Ending it now before you even start is totally wimping out.
You expect to have to go through college, slave away for four, five years, and that you can't manage that right now?
Okay so don't. Take a year off. go bum around the country. I've got a son in a restaurant as a comis chef, quit in his first year at university. If he killed himself over a thing like that I'd follow him to hell and kill him again.
The World Is Your Oyster. You Can Do Anything. You have any future you want. Any future.
Now go have a good cry, and see if you can bodge the papers you're falling behind in. i've found a LOT I can do by googling. In the end with one paper I crammed half the paper in one long weekend.
You can do it when the pressure's high enough. Just don't flake out. Your parents spent a LOT of love and time creating you and boy would they be pissed if you gave up just before the game became fun.
and remember you can have a wonderful life in a trade. Or as an entrepreneur. Just follow your nose through life. Do what you want. This is your life, and you only get one, so do what you want with it. :)
And do not waste your time being ashamed! :) You're a great guy. You'll do fine. :)
It can be many different things!
Lots of guys are making good careers working in the oil fields.
Or the restaurant business. What interests you?
Your future is not dead or dying. People live to be over 100 these days. There's plenty of future ahead of us. If we need to take some time away from homework and other responsibilities to care for our health, that is OK. If someone had cancer and got behind on their school work, should they be ashamed of themselves? No! And there is no difference for people fighting depression.
You are a warrior and so am I. We will defeat this, but we need to be kind to ourselves (((hugs)))
