Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I too take Prozac for my depression and while it works most of the time I was also feeling down tonight. Instead of my dog (and I'm so sorry about your dog btw, pets are so important) I just learned my dad probably has prostate cancer we don't know yet and I'm still freaking out.
I took a Xanax because I was so nervous about the big family Thanksgiving but I'm clearly not going to sleep tonight.
It's always hard to get these blows. And cancer is awful. I hate cancer. Srsly, fuck cancer.
The heavy feeling is a horrible feeling and when you get it regularly it can become near unbearable. Know that you can come here anytime and vent as much as you need. You don't need to feel like a bother. There are plenty of people here who want to help out.
Pets are so important and it's amazing how much of an impact they'll make in your life and you in theirs too. I don't know how I'll cope when my little man Piccolo goes one day (tap wood it'll be many many many more years from now) He's made such a large impact in my life.
Many of us have been where you are. There are many who are where you are now.
Please reach out any time.
Sending many good vibes your way x
Sideways.
I'm so sorry about your dad :( I really hope everything turns out okay for him. It's always so scary.
Thanks for letting me vent. My family knows about how I feel but they get exasperated because they can't do much more to help me. I feel so bad about it.
I have asked that when she gets to the point of no return I am there at the end. It's horrible and it'll break me big time. But I can't let her go alone.
I haven't been truly, consistently happy and content on a long time. It's getting exhausting.
Thanks again guys.
I know that it is easier said than done to urge that you try not to feel bad. I more often than not get that feeling as though it's just a bother, like you can't reach out to other people because you think you're a bother or you might risk losing those you care about. But you need to remember that reaching out is good.
Know that your loved ones don't love just one version of you, they love you no matter what 'version' you are. Of course, they'd prefer a not-depressed You over a depressed one, and maybe they wont always know how to help but that's where DS can come on.
It is a bit like having this feeling like worrying that if people or more specifically the ones you are closest too found out you're feeling anxious or depressed then they won't stand by your side. And that you'll br treated differently. Because you don't feel like you're the person they knew, right? But you are still the person they know and love and they will stick with you because they love you no matter what 'you' you are. Does that make sense?
New friends here always help too. I've made some lasting friendships with a few people on the net since my early teens and though we're continents apart, they're family in my heart. You may find that here. :)
I would like to make some new friends too. Try gey back a bit of who I was before. Or if not that, become a new person that I am happy to be. Though I can't even picture that now.
Took my dog a nice walk. Let her lead where we went.
Hope that time can heal your hurt!
A certain job doing work thats okay or a less certain future in a job I may enjoy more with more hours.
I feel hellish because my family want me to choose the former. I just want to get out. Breathe if that makes sense.
I can't take this feeling of disappointing everyone.
It is a tough decision but I'd urge you to go for the job that you think will benefit you better in the long run. No point dragging yourself to a job everyday when you seriously don't want to be there. It'd be worse if you were going just because you wanted to please others.
I'm glad you enjoyed your walk with your dog. It's always pretty interesting when you let them take the lead and walk you instead. :D
it can be hard picturing being happy again, especially when you've been going through what you have been for so very long, but time gets you there. Having people
Just had a talk there. We might get her in for check up Wednesday. If the vet says it's going to be worse and more painful for her, we let her go. I don't want my old lady in any pain
