Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Keep doing your best to place intellect ahead of emotion while making decisions, and be sure to let others know before you might lose control of or access to your intellect. There are times when my emotions are screaming and I fear my intellect might soon be overwhelmed or over-powered by the depression, and those are the times when I set everything non-essential (everything not absolutely essential or vital as in "necessary for life") aside and be certain of each next step or action of any kind until at least the worst of the episode has passed.
When I get it, I look around myself to see what is going wrong, and then I fix those things. Even if it seems silly, or too extreme, or unnecessary, I fix those things.
I consider fixing those things to be a survival issue. Failure to fix those things leads to suicide. Therefore fixing those things is valid, and important, and deserving of quality attention.
