Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Hope things get better for you....
Sending hugs and support!!
I can totally relate and feel your pain. I just joined this forum was hoping there is live chat but haven't explored the whole site yet. I also feel very alone and am not getting the support that I need right now from family but they are the same family that has been abusive to me for almost my entire life.
I am living alone renting bsmt and also not getting along with the elder upstairs due to stress over this whole fricken pandemic fears. My sleeping has been horrible, up very late in the morning I sleep probably from like 4am til sometimes 2pm in the aftn. So my hormones out of whack.
I'm isolating even more now, and try to force myself to go out for a walk at least once a day or a drive to get some sunshine and vitamin d. I find when i am in this negative state it seems very isolating and that no one cares even thought that is far from the truth but I also feel angry that friends are not calling and checking on me often. Unmet expectations.
We are all going through are out shi%^I have always been kinda a loner but this whole thing is really affecting me because at least before I could meet friends for coffee and or meet and hang out play games. I am feel very jealous of all the families that are together and at least have people they can talk to or watch movies with while social distancing and the fact the the elder upstairs is afraid of being close to me bothers me sooo much. We have a shared kitchen and I am finding to avoid being around her now I am just going out and eating take out and hurting myself because of her fears.
I have so much unhealed anger and it seems everyone triggers me. Its like I know this is not my true self and only comes from my ego and hurt places but its so hard sometimes to rationalize.
Just before coming on here I was looking for anger help groups and read an article that said one of the reasons we get angry is because of fear and powerlessness and I realized that is a big truth for me, I feel like I have no control over my living situation and feel helpless. I know I deserve better and need a place of my own and fears of not being able to afford hold me limited belief patterns.
Anyways sorry going off on a rant, Edward hang in there. Are you from US or where from? I'm sure there is financial support in your area you can look into in case of any job loss, My friend today told me to apply online for CERB as I live in Canada but not sure if I will qualify. Worse case there's always welfare or other jobs. We have to trust and get out of the fear and yet we are in a time of uncertainty so it is very normal to fear the worse as long as we don't let it get the better of us. Ive been advise to also take online course so many options.
Hang in there and do reach out and find friends online or support groups you can call sometimes we just need to hear a voice esp at this time it is not always good to be totally alone.
Big hugs from another sufferer. May we all one day look back at this pandemic or just another passing time in history.
