I'm really depressed.  I called in sick to work today.  I'm trying but I just get extrememly exhausted.  I googled "I'd rather die than go to work" which is how I feel most days mainly due to depression, bullying, health problems and found there were many others in the same boat.  I wish there were jobs that were ok.  Does anyone here have a job that they like?  I would be interested in hearing about what that's like.  


I saw some bad reviews about this site online somewhere.  I don't agree.  I think this is a good site.  Yea, there are a few issues but it's the best place I've found to get support.  It's really nice to have a place to go and write how you feel and then have others respond really quickly.  


I wish I could go back in time and make other choices to make my life easier for me now that I am getting older.  I keep thinking about that even though I know there is no point.  We really do only get one shot at life.  I think sometimes when we are young we think we can let this or that opportunity go by cuz we'll get another chance.  Maybe.  But I've found that isn't always the case.  


I feel really alone and depressed today as usual.  I wish I could kill the pain somehow but I can't seem to be able to.  I always want to retreat.  I don't want to fight anymore.  I want to retire to a little farm somewhere where it's quiet and I can commune with nature and rest as much as I want.  Maybe someday I could get there but right now I'm going through hell.

that's probably the main reason I don't work, all the aholes w/all their criticisms, judgements, opinions, etc., and just not being able to relate to anyone. like, hello, I'm here to work, not listen to your s***. it's like after years of dealing w/that, and the stress, I'd rather just be poor, living w/my dad, and staying in my room all day.

I too wish I could live on a farm, where the constant going and doing of our society isn't necessary.

sorry you're having a rough time, hope you enjoy your day off at least. I've had to call in sick too just to have some time off. hugs.

thank you for replying doggy123. We sound a lot alike. the worst thing about my job is the people. they just can't mind their own freakin business. no pun intended. yea, I think we both need a good break from society for awhile. living on a farm does sound nice. i pet sat for this guy and his wife who lived on a farm. i fed the chickens and cats. it was nice and quiet. the chickens are really nice and it's funny cuz the cats are scared sh9tless of them. before the couple left that i was pet sitting for I asked how I could protect the chicks them the cats who were both big male outside cats. the guy said, "the mother chickens will do it" LOL I never saw the cats even try to get their babies.

yes, I've noticed a lot of ppl here are introverts who don't like ppl or noise, haha. I've had that problem, w/various jobs, it makes you dread going to work when you have to wonder "what crap am I gonna have to deal w/today?" it makes it frustrating and depressing when ppl act like you're lazy if you don't want to work...ummm, no...I want to WORK, and get paid. I don't want to have to deal w/jerks that don't have any manners or can't keep their F*ing mouth shut. but no one cares or wants to do anything about it, it's just another thing you're just supposed to deal with, and if you don't or can't, well then you just must be lazy. F*ing society.

that sounds nice. I was even a horticulture major for a while, bc I wanted to farm...then I realized how difficult it is, lol. it would be nice if there were a farm-type place for us anxiety types to live and work...it would be like therapeutic. probably cheaper than therapy, hahaha.

and also the nicer and quieter you are, the more ppl seem to think they can question or criticize you.

Wow. Sounds like you're perfectly normal and dealing with a lot of the same crappy stuff as many other working folks. But you have to be strong and stick-up for yourself against the bullies. If they're at work, start documenting and writing formal complaints to the management. If it is the management that's doing the bullying, then go to your union.

If you don't have a union, you may end-up with another job, but let them know in no uncertain terms that if they fire you or force you out, you have been keeping track of all the incidents and will seek legal help to expose them and seek compensation for their bullying.

It would be even better if you can get proof. There are cellphone apps for recording audio and video. Get this bully on cam if you can. I've been fired from more than one job for being so bold and I consider it a badge of honor.

We are all stronger than we know, which means you are stronger than you know. Be that person! If the bullying is at home, that's a whole other story.

That's my rant. Glad you like this forum. I think it's one of the best out there because it doesn't have a bunch of high-minded self-important personally biased moderators breathing down your neck every day telling people what they can and cannot say, and most people who post here really mean well and aren't trying to flame or pick on anyone.

I wish I'd got proof. this one job, this guy was constantly questioning why I didn't drink or go out w/them after work. he only got more critical, and the final straw, was when I was walking by (of course, sick of everyone by then) and he scoffed and made a remark about how I looked. and this is what I mean, no one should have to deal w/that crap, when they're just there to work and go home. then, I overheard these other ppl's loud, inappropriate sex talk, which I'm sure would be some kind of sexual harrassment, even though it wasn't directed at me, it's obviously not appropriate for the workplace, and no one should have to listen to that and be uncomfortable. of course, they fired me, though. without giving a reason, haha...even after they asked if I had any questions. yep, fire the person that was just there to work, and mind my own business. sounds about right. I was only there a month, so I wasn't sure if I could do anything.

I do not have a job at the moment but i do many different things with my time. I love talking to others. Life is what you make it, if can be a joyful experience or painful. When i say life is what you make it, i mean your actions and mindset can make or break you. Its good to be thoughtful in what you actually want in life and be determined for change.
