so I have been taking a generic anti depressant for over a year now...But for some reason when my parents insurance changed at the beginning of this year I received the regular name brand anti D instead...I noticed that my prescription slips have always said for the regular one so I'm not sure why I was getting the generic. The bill for the regular was almost 4x as much as the generic and I want to get back on the generic. Who do I call or contact to make this change? Does anyone know? Is this a insurance thing, or a doctor thing? I'm really confused by the hole situation....

Simple. When you get it filled tell the pharmacy you want generic.

Law is that the pharmacy has to fill with the generic unless you or the DR stated DAW (dispense as written). If there is a generic you should be getting it. It is really uncommon for an insurance to pay for the brand name. Each dr had both a brand name and a generic name. Even if the generic are not made yet.

So it was against the law for my pharmacy to give me the brand name? It really screwed me up financially. My bill went from $30 to $100.

Pharmacy is telling me they can only refill what it says on the slip. But I see no DAW on it. Nothing has changed in the past year I have been taking this, I don't understand I'm so confused. Now I might have to stop taking meds all together because apparently I'm not allowed to take generics?

Change pharmacies? I use CVS and they give me whatever generic I want or name brand. However, sometimes name brands require pre-authorizations, but I can't see any other reason for the pharmacy not to give you what you want. You're entitled to take a generic. I would check into it if I were you; I am picky about my medications and I will go miles to take what I want. Good luck!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
