i have another question for you all regarding prozac or any other antidepressant. i have been fighting bouts of depression since i was in my 20s. I am now in my 40s. i have always taken prozac which has always worked for me. i feel better in about 6 weeks or so and am totally fine for as long as i stay on the meds. Problem is i always get off them after a year or two because of the sexual side effects. :-(
This time around i have been on Prozac for about 3 months and after about 8 weeks i was completely fine again. took a little longer to kick in than in the past. My problem is over the last week i feel that feeling of my depression coming back. i can tell its coming. i have NEVER felt this way when i am on the meds. any idea whats going on?? why would it work for awhile and then start to not work? I am scared to death........

No one knows why but one that has worked before just stops working.
Fotuunately there are several other SSRIs to try and each has a 60 to
65 % success rate. Celexa is the one that has the lowest % of people
stop taking it due to side effects so it might be a good one to try. I am
on Wellbutrin , a different type of antidepressant and really like it..little or
no sexual side effects.
