Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Do you see yourself being able to get better and not call in sick so often? Does your boss seem like a person who would work with you on that?
As for quitting versus being fired, that is a hard one. A third option is to be laid off due to slow business, but companies may have to pay the government a fee if they do that. Quitting looks better on your resume than being fired, but being fired may give you better benefits than if you quit.
My guess is that your boss would rather let you quit than to fire you because it is easier for him/her and less paperwork if you quit. If they fire you then you can always challenge it. If their paperwork is in order then all it would cost them is time. If their paperwork is not in order then they might lose in arbitration and have to give you your job back and/or give you a settlement.
You might want to do some research on that quit/fired thing.
Here is an article I found, it may or may not help.

From what it says, it looks like getting fired/quit due to health reasons may entitle you to unemployment benefits. Can you get a doctor to justify your illness as a reason for not going to work?
Sorry, I'm not a lawyer, so this is about as much as I can think to tell you.
Gentle hugs
Behet's syndrome can be very debilitating .. leading me to inquire about some kind of 'disability' benefit. I imagine you have already looked into it though.
"Social Security pays disability benefits to you and certain members of your family if you have worked long enough and have a medical condition that has prevented you from working or is expected to prevent you from working for at least 12 months or end in death."
You are young and probably have a small work history ... so I don't know if it will be much help to you, .. but you can find out:

I am terribly sorry I cannot offer more suggestions. Perhaps someone else will. I wish you the very best.
I was getting better but now I have no gusto to move forward. I feel like shit.
If you don't have a personnel office ask your boss's supervisor or her if you have to with no other choices. I had an old bitch for a boss, she tried to take my promotion, lower my pay, bitch at me, I would just go tell on her. I could have called the federal office and got her ass fired but I am not that vindictive. Good luck to you.
