Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I like that I am learning to stand up for myself and not taking any shit off anyone anymore. This is a biggie for me.
Drew I can think of one thing, you know maybe you did something wrong, and that is a BIG thing. So many people are not willing to look at themselves, or their defects, and try to be better. You re trying to be better, and that is positive.
Of course we can not go over board, and think we are not worth anything. We all have our issues, and it is important to see them, and work on them, but it also does not mean we do not have any redeeming qualities. You know you have them Drew, even though you might feel like crap right now.
I can say this about myself, that i too see my defects, and issues, and working hard to change them. I am not perfect, but i have deep empathy for others, and their struggles. I have a deep commitment in following Christ, and trying to being loving, and do the right thing. many times i fall short, but that is ok,for I do not expect to be perfect. i tis the trying, perseverance, and journey that matters. This is something good, and positive about me.
Oh and I tend to make people laugh at my incredible stories, and experiences in life, and hopefully with my jokes, not meant to offend anyone, but all in good clean fun. :)
But it so important to find something we like about ourselves, ya know?
Drew, I am taking your turn....LOL. You are a care-giver for your Dad. And from what you post...you take that roll very seriously. "Caring" is an awesome thing to be :-)
