Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Anyone have any? I'm having trouble finding mine at the moment. I think this is in large part to this shitty, low-paying, mundane, repetitious, tedious job I'm doing to help make ends meet (security officer). I have a technical and audio-visual mind that is not being used to its full potential. Looking for a better job. A few promising free-lance leads, but nothing leading to bucks at the moment.
The time it takes to edit each wedding video is a bitch. I've got the editing process about as streamlined as anybody can, but weddings are long as editing the footage to make it conform to music and cover up sloppy moments when I had to move here and there with closeup insert shots just takes time.
That business used to bring in a thousand or more per wedding; now it only brings in a few hundred per wedding, not really enough to live on. But, when it's there, i double or triple up; do 2-3 weddings a week. It's an exhausting pace, but I gotta do what it takes to bring in the bacon. Then 3-4 weeks will go by with nothing, so I fall back on the security business.
A few days of just shooting with no editing per week at even $150 a day would really make a difference.
