Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
It's like a constant pendulum you see, always swaying back and forth.
Always going between one or the other, not being able to balance.
The realistic side of me is saying "what the hell are you doing? Who are you??"
The sick part of me is saying "do it and you'll feel again and have control"
The realistic side is saying "it will only end up controlling you in the end"
The sick side of me is saying "yes, but it won't happen to you, that just happens to other people"
The realistic side is saying "if you do, you'll have more visible scars than you already have"
The sick part of me is saying "oh well, at least I'll have some release"
The realistic side of me is saying "you need fuel to survive"
The sick part of me is saying "but if you give in, then you won't have control"
The realistic part is saying "this is not you. You were someone else before all of this and you can be that someone again"
It's a constant pendulum you see, always swaying back and forth, not being able to balance.
