Probability is a funny thing. Just remember that it is never a guarantee.
It's just probability. There are rare cases. Always. And you might be one of them! Pretty cool!

It all depends on how many coins you've found as well. Maybe you've found ten. Finding ten face down is a lot less amazing or suspicious than finding a total of 342 coins face down, right?

And you also have to account for the fact that there ARE coins that are face up, they just happen to be someplace else. If we were to collect all the coins in the world, surely half of them would be found face up and the other half face down (PROBABLY). In any case, it's also possible that the face down ones are distributed in just the places that you go to. Or maybe there are face up coins you don't see that are under your nose the entire time!!

Well, you get the point haha. It's just probability. And there a lot of other factors and ideas that should be noted.

i tend to look at the ground as i walk... not at my toes, but at the ground a few feet in front of me... and im always looking around me too... i have an almost compulsive need to know exactly whats going on around me at all times... so i think i probably notice all the coins that are in my path (or at least the vast majority of them)

i havent counted all the coins ive found in the last few years but its got to be a lot of them... untill recently i had a big jug with $350 in change in it (yes, im that OCD that i know exactly how much change is in my change jug)

i didnt find all of those coins, of course, but i find a lot of coins

i agree about half the lost coins in the world being heads up and half heads down... it just seems very strange that they would ALL be heads down wherever i go

another possibility is that other people are picking up the heads-up coins and leaving the heads down ones cause they're bad luck... but it still seems like there should be one or two heads up coins in my path

Hmmm, I'm the type of person who might spend some effort to place pennies all one way on the ground. But I would lose interest after some time.

Perhaps you live near somebody who goes out and places pennies on the ground, all face down!

You remind me of my best friend Tom who lives next door. When we walk to the store, he always has his head down and I swear, he finds at least one penny every time we go to the store. Sometimes he gets lucky and finds more than a penny. I will have to pay more attention as to whether the penny is heads up or not! Very interesting.. LOL
