Hang on in there. I know lots 9f people in remission. Techniques have changed a lot in recent years and what was once a death sentence now I'd an easy fix. My son in law to be was recently cured from lymph cancer. That used to be a death sentence.

So wait and have hope and hang on in there. Xx

Oh Diane, I am so sorry. You have already been through so much and now this. But bridgie is right, Hang on to hope. Cancer research has come such a long way. My 19 year old has been cancer free for two years. Love, hugs, and prayers. Keep us updated, okay?

So sorry to hear about your diagnoses. Two years ago I had breast cancer and went through surgery, chemo and radiation. I have been in remission. I am due for my annual mammo and appointment with the encologist. I must admit that I am a little nervous, but I am trying to stay positive and keep my faith. I will keep you in my prayers.

This is probably the dumbest thing I'll ever utter......but all I can think about....besides dying, is that my hair is almost to my waist and it took years to get there. My therapist told me that's a normal concern, but I sure feel dumb for worrying about that. Guys, I have been going through a lot and there are days when I wished I wasn't here. Be careful what you wish for......

I totally understand. Let's just hope they give you mild chemo, if you even NEED chemo. My friend who had a portion of her guts removed from some cancer in her abdomen didn't require chemo cos it hadn't gone anywhere else. they were able to chop the lot out.

I just had a boob lump removed, benign. :) The operation knocks you around a fair bit; expect to take 2 or more weeks off. My friend needed 4.

I am so sorry to hear that. I do agree that they have come a long way with treatment.

I'm $o sorry to hear that! I have lived with chronic abdominal pain, from a drastic birth defect. I'm 47, and just waiting for it... (((HUGS))) Ted

I am so sorry Diane. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

The cancer is in my peritoneal tissue. It's in the advanced stages. They will be doing a CT scan and blood work and then I start chemo. I was told not everyone can tolerate chemo, and not all cancers respond. But my therapist, who shares an office with chemotherapists, seems to feel my chances are good. I'm going tomorrow to get a large portion of my hair cut off. I was told I will most likely lose it. If I don't....it will grow back. If I do, it will be that much easier to shave. It's further than halfway down my back. I've been dying it dark brown for years. Wait until it grows back white......people won't know me.

Ask your oncologist what your prognosis is. If you can't tolerate chemo or it doesn't work ask about experimental treatments. Before my son started chemo they gave us a printout of alternative treatments that were in experimental phases. And if you find yourself out of options, move to Colorado and try medical marajuana.

He wouldn't give me a prognosis. My mom's oncologist wouldn't either. He said it scared people. And honestly.....I don't want to hear I only have so many months or years. I only have a husband and a brother. My husband works 12 hour shifts. He has to work, especially now. I've been unemployed. My brother just had a non- cancerous tumor removed from his brain, He's at home recovering, and cannot drive. And I have no friends that are local. There are people I can talk to by phone and on line, but no one to be with.

Then stay in touch with us so we can offer you support while you go through this. We all care about you, Diane, and I'm sure I am not the only one who wishes I could be there with you to help out and just sit with you, maybe listen to music together..... Sending more prayers.
